If you know someone who tries on a ton of clothes while shopping (or you’re guilty of it yourself), this one is for you.
Taiwan-based Vismile has developed a new way to try on clothes – a virtual fitting room.
Essentially, you stand in front of a large display, which scans your body in real-time and shows how certain clothes would fit. You simply select different styles using hand movements, like you would with Microsoft’s (MSFT) Kinect.

Since the clothes have been previously scanned ahead of time, the virtual fit is much more accurate than using 2-D images alone.
As the general manager of the company says, “The clothes are presented as 3-D images, and these images were constructed from real clothes. Unlike the 2-D pictures in flyers, imagination is no longer necessary. You only need to use your hand to select the clothes, and you may also turn to see how the clothes fit the shape of your body. That is the biggest breakthrough in our technology.”
