As the World Goes Mobile, Facebook Ups Its Game

As we explained in yesterday’s column, the growth of mobile technology has exploded in recent years.

And it’s not going to slow down anytime soon.

The web’s biggest players know it, too.

They know that as an increasing number of people migrate from large computer screens to smaller smartphone screens, it’s crucial that mobile applications are user-friendly, reliable and enjoyable.

Take Facebook (FB), for example. It upped the ante big-time in the mobile space when it bought mobile-specific photo-sharing company, Instagram, for $715 million.

However, as the mobile industry grows, so do fears over data-sharing policies and users’ privacy.

Trust is key… and the popular Berlin-based audio company, Soundcloud, is also amending its sharing features in order to retain customers.
