We've been chronicling the rapid rise in enthusiasm for Bitcoins for well over a year now. Although it might be a tad complicated and controversial, the digital currency is all the rage these days, with internet searches for â€œBitcoinâ€ literally going vertical in the last three months of 2013.
And we've been harsh critics along the way, warning against this insidious currency scam.
Despite our strong warnings, however, early adopters have remained steadfast in their loyalty. Even in the face of some stinging setbacks, such as the theft of Bitcoins from Mt. Gox and its subsequent closure, as well as the IRS' classification of Bitcoins as property, not currency.
