A new innovation to keep Grandpa out of the nursing home has arrived.
It’s called Care-O-bot 3. And it’s promoted by its creators as the future of in-home care for the elderly.
The robot is capable of performing “fetch and carry” tasks, meaning it can go get you a drink from the kitchen, and bring it back to you on a tray.
And it can be controlled in three different ways, depending on a person’s physical capabilities.
Users can simply issue instructions using a smartphone or tablet application. A friend can control the robot with a remote-controlled device. Or it can be controlled remotely by employees located at 24-hour service stations.
