Sony Caters to the Clumsy With the Xperia Z
We’ve written about different ways to make your mobile device waterproof in the past. Liquipel, for instance, places your phone in a vacuum chamber to make both the outer and inner components water repellent.
The problem is, you need to send your phone away to get it treated.
That’s not the case with Sony’s (SNE) new Xperia Z smartphone.
The company unveiled the new device – which is waterproof right out of the box – at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Sony engineer, Fred Gunther, says, “You don’t have to worry about getting caught in a rain storm. You don’t have to worry about when you’re at your kid’s swim practice losing your phone in the pool. It’s a worry-free product that will withstand the test of time.”
But that’s not the only technology that’s turning heads at MWC 2013…
