I’m sure you’ve noticed by now that Microsoft’s (Nasdaq: MSFT) Windows operating system has been going through a drastic change this year.
Whether it was in the new lineup of smartphones, the upcoming PCs or in the upbeat ads for its new Surface tablets… Windows 8 is coming. Fast.
The software officially launches this week. So even if you somehow haven’t caught a glimpse of the completely overhauled design, you soon will.
For longtime Windows users, this can come as quite a shock.
But as Reuters’ Jon Gordon says, “Going from the traditional desktop to something like Windows 8 can be a bit confusing. But in fact it’s like having both systems in one here, you’ve got the modern UI elements that you can pull up, and… switching between them is actually more intuitive and simple than you might think.”
Tell us what you think of the new Windows 8 design. Is it something you’re looking forward to, or is this one of those times where change is definitely not a good thing?
