Facebook Raises Ad Stakes Ahead of IPO

Facebook is making it easier for businesses to promote their products on the world’s leading social media website. Pages for businesses and products will contain richer, more brand-centric content.

The move was announced at a New York City marketing event, as the soon-to-be-publicly-traded Facebook prepares to face more scrutiny. By giving brands more promotional leeway, Facebook hopes to garner more advertising revenue. The Executive Director of CNET says this development is “all part of a push to show that it really merits this huge valuation of $75-80 billion.”
